The world of Everquest fanfiction was for me an excellent vehicle for me to toy around with literary devices, as well as conventions of in-game lore and fan theories. Defenders of Order was to incorporate all three in an interesting fashion, insofar as I had plenty of fun with it as a hobby writing for my own amusement, deliberately incorporating "bad" fiction devices like a seemingly overpowered main hero, a 'fish out of water' story, a 'monster of the week' and then take all my established plot devices for a wild ride as I twisted them into subversion Defenders of Order Deconstruct

Wonderful timing

While I usually only get sick once or twice a year, it's usually at an extremely inconvenient time, and this illness was no exception. Fever, chills, digestive mess, the usual flu suspects. The only problem was is that it was the day before my two finals. I got them extended to today, only to have not fully recovered, yet still get up at 5:30AM to haul my ass over to St. Paul to take both back to back. Somehow managed to do pretty well on them. Now, it's time for Christmas break...though I'd just settle for being able to actually eat a full meal and sleep uninterrupted.

'S cool. I've hit a patch of depression it seems, and can't motivate myself to do much of anything, so I can understand the rut thing. Just keep trying ideas and maybe a streak of inspiration'll hit. Hope things are working out in your personal life even if your artistic life is a bit slow. I'm in a funk all-round for the most part.

You're welcome! Been reading Wapsi for quite a while now, and it's interesting to read a strip set in the Twin Cities and recognize the landmarks! Been attempting to get down to Minneapolis more.
